Event Details

June 27-28, 2026

Join Indivisible for a two-day training event focused on strategies of noncooperation, building movement resilience and sustainability, and preparing to be peer educators in our own groups and networks. Whether you’re an experienced organizer or just getting started, you’ll gain practical skills and connect with a passionate community.

Empower Your Activism in Portland

The sessions are organized into four tracks: Community Resilience as Resistance, Organizing for Strategic Action, Sustainable Safety Practice and a Bonus Track. If you attend Resistance Bootcamp as a part of a larger contingent from an Indivisible group or other organization, planners recommend dispersing different members across all four tracks, if possible.

Note that some classes may require that participants have already attended other trainings in that track, but sessions are otherwise scheduled to allow you to move between tracks if you wish.

Track 1, Community Resilience as Resistance, will feature Saturday workshops on launching a mutual aid project and managing activist burnout through self-care and other strategies. Sunday opens with a two-part session on first aid for protest medics in the main track and a two part session on conflict resolution in the bonus track.

Track 2, Organizing for Strategic Action, will open with a workshop to help you start and develop your affinity groups, and rounds out day one with another in leadership and group development, both addressing essential work for ensuring the resilience and sustainability of the movement. Day two will continue that work with sessions on conflict resolution and strategic action planning, concluding with a strategic action troubleshooting clinic.

Track 3, Sustainable Safety Practice, will begin with a workshop on starting your group’s safety team in the main track and with a class on digital security for activists in the bonus track. Next comes a “train the trainers” session to prepare participants to train marshals for nonviolent direct actions. Sunday’s sessions will include an advanced deescalation training and a two-session workshop on nonviolent civil disobedience and other high-risk nonviolent direct actions.
